Head Coach Montalto
Jeff Montalto – Head Coach, Orlando Royals
I grew up on Long Island, where my love for football first began at Smithtown Middle School. I played free safety, inspired by my hero Ronnie Lott of the San Francisco 49ers. I carried that passion throughout high school, playing free safety all four years at Smithtown High School.
After graduating, my father’s company relocated us to Texas for a major project. While there, I attended Southern Methodist University and walked on to their football team, once again playing free safety. I competed for half a season before deciding to step away to work alongside my family.
Fast forward to today, football has remained a central part of my life. My son has been playing the game for five years, and I have been coaching for four of them—starting as a defensive assistant and now serving as Head Coach for the Orlando Royals.
Coaching is more than just football to me—it’s about building young men who carry discipline, respect, and strong character on and off the field. I believe the game is one of the greatest tools to teach life lessons, preparing players not only for success in football, but in the world beyond it.

What’s going on, Royals family! I’m Coach P, Defensive Coordinator for the Orlando City Royals 10U. I’ve been blessed with experience coaching all the way up through the collegiate level, and I’m bringing that fire right here to our squad.
My philosophy is simple: effort can’t be taught—it’s already inside you. We’re going to dig deep, play with heart, and bring out the best in every single player. Let’s get after it! 💪🏈

I began playing football at the age of six and continued through college, earning a full-ride scholarship to play Division II football at West Virginia Wesleyan College. While there, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and had the honor of being scouted by the Detroit Lions.
After my playing career, I transitioned into coaching youth football, a role I’ve proudly held for the past five years. My coaching philosophy is simple: we coach to teach and develop kids both on and off the field. I focus on proper technique, building mental toughness, and teaching athletes how to compete, while also shaping them into better people beyond the game.
Fun fact- I appeared on Reality TV in high school on the Terrell Owen’s (T.O.) Show!
